Our Providers

  • Thomas Phelps, M.D. graduated from the University of the South in 1974, and from Meharry Medical College in 1983. He was Board Certified in Family Medicine and Sleep Medicine. He established the first certified Sleep Medicine center in Southeastern Tennessee at Harton Regional Health and served as Medical Director of the Lynchburg Nursing Center and the Lynchburg Clinic for 20 years.
  • Cooper Lloyd, MD, MPH graduated from Stanford University with a B.A. in Human Biology. She attended Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and completed her residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at Johns Hopkins Hospital. She previously practiced primary care at Vanderbilt and served as a Medical Director of Shade Tree Clinic, a free clinic for uninsured patients at Vanderbilt. She currently serves as a volunteer physician for SCCC.
  • Charles Sienknecht, M.D. graduated from UT Memphis Medical School. He completed rheumatology fellowships at UT Memphis and the University of Toronto, Canada. He practices at Arthritis Associates in Hixon, TN and volunteers for SCCC.
  • Eric Young, M.D. graduated from Michigan State University, and from Wayne State University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in anesthesiology and a Pain Management Fellowship at Wayne State University Detroit Medical Center. He currently practices at Murfreesboro Medical Clinic and Surgery Center and volunteers for SCCC.
  • Beth Sperry, NP earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the MGH Institute of Health Professions in 1992 after completing her undergraduate education at Boston University. She is a board-certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner with more than 30 years of experience providing comprehensive women’s healthcare.
  • Caleb Rae, PA earned his Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Rocky Mountain College in 2007 after graduating from the University of the South in 2001. With nearly two decades of experience, Caleb has spent the past 19 years providing compassionate, patient-centered care in family medicine and urgent care throughout Grundy County and the surrounding communities.
